Hello, this is a page all about where to take children by children. This page will include playgrounds and child friendly coffee shops near family walks listed on the Walking page.
First of all there is the Ambleside walks. They are good because they are all quite near to:

Rothay Park ( playground and playing field)

Apple Pie Teashop ( listed in Eating Out page)

Pitch and Putt (near Rothay Park. Has Crazy Golf as well as tennis, french boules and bowles )

Bonkers Play Den (Piano Cafe play area)

Shops ( If Mum gets bored)
Then there are the Grasmere walks. They are near:

A playground (next to Broadgate pay and display car park. Includes playground and playing field)

If you are vegetarian there is the cafe/ restaurant called The Rowan Tree.*

If you are coeliac (gluten free) there is the cafe Greens.*

The Grasmere Garden Centre (which has an internet computer. Serves food and drink)

A reasonable amount of shops (walking, Sam Reads Bookshop ,food, beauty and healthfood)

* Both serve normal food as well ( but Rowan Tree does not serve meat)
Windermere walks are varied because it depends where you are. In Bowness-on-Windermere there are:

Loads of good restaurants (a good reason to check it out)

Cruises (get on the Swan, Teal, Tern or other boats)

Souveneir shops (as well as clothes ,walking and a Co-Op ,Deli and recently opened Tesco Express)

The bowling green playground (a small playground next to a bowling green)

Lyons Playground ( mainly wooden playground with basketball hoop and football net)

Good cafes and restaurants ( too many to list but some are on the Eating Out page.
